Frankfurt, 22 November. Lisa Technopolymer receives the prestigious German Design Award 2020, a prize rewarding Excellent Product Design – Furniture category.
Lisa Technopolymer, new 2019 product, is a variation of the chair Lisa, multi-awarded project from 2018.
Lisa has been able to turn into infinite variations depending on the combinations of materials used for the seat and backrest, becoming each time a completely different product to meet specific stylistic as well as functional needs. The technopolymer version is perhaps the one that is most reminiscent of the origins of SCAB Design, when the company pioneered the experimentation with polymers in the furniture sector, creating pieces that are still today in our homes.
Lisa Technopolymer is suitable for any environment: indoor/outdoor, residential/contract. A chair with a cheerful soul, practical but very robust.
The designer, Marcello Ziliani, declares, ‘This version has been the object of particular attention in order to keep and enhance the features that have made Lisa a winning project. Soft shapes were thus combined with rounded edges that “drown” in the structure as a tribute to the softness of the padded versions and at the same time we used generous sections and thicknesses, something unusual for components made in technopolymer, which communicate a pleasant sense of richness and solidity. Particular attention was paid to the search for tactile quality in the finish of the surfaces and in the choice of contemporary colours happily matched with those of the coated steel frame.’
